Unique bleached oak veneer kitchen by Semel with a light nano-finish island
This kitchen was designed for a client who divides her time between Japan and Israel, which inspired the design concept for both the home and the kitchen.
The carefully curated color palette includes sand tones, such as those found in the granite, paired with soft, warm wood accents. This combination wraps the space in a sense of tranquility and connection to nature, reflecting the serene atmosphere of traditional Japanese interiors.
The original L-shaped layout was reimagined into a long island, creating continuity with the dining area, adding depth to the apartment, and allowing for two distinct hosting areas. In this kitchen, much is hidden from sight. The design was tailored to the client’s needs, including her practice of growing edible herbs, a common tradition in Japan. To accommodate this, a hidden pantry was created, which also houses the utility room and growing containers.
The tall cabinet wall was crafted from a unique, newly developed bleached oak veneer by Semel, while the island fronts were made from light-colored nano material, enhancing the kitchen’s refined and minimalist aesthetic.
