Deep blue kitchen
This penthouse was designed for a couple with three children and a dog. The father is in the military, and the mother is a pastry chef who works from home, which gave the kitchen extra importance and attention beyond the usual. The homeowner asked the project designer to create a spacious kitchen with plenty of storage space, a large and comfortable work surface, and a dedicated cabinet for a freezer and business-related needs.
From a planning perspective, the clients emphasized their desire for a very large work surface and ample storage. In addition to the main work area, a particularly large counter was designed, intended for seating (with five seats), for work, and even to accommodate the cooktop. The entire work surface is clad in light Dekton with subtle veining.
On the design side, the entire kitchen is painted in deep blue lacquer, a color with a strong presence. The fronts feature delicate framing that maintains a clean look, complemented by refined golden handles.
“From the very beginning, we knew we wanted to bring a lot of color into the kitchen. At first, we considered a forest green shade, but eventually, we decided on blue,” says Adi Mintz, the project designer.
