Black metallic lacquer kitchen combined with brushed oak veneer
In this project, the client wanted a unique apartment, completely different from what she had before. She envisioned an unconventional design, one that would stand out the moment you walk in, with deep, dark tones.
The kitchen and living room share a narrow, elongated space, which required a creative solution for the TV wall since there wasn’t a standard distance between the sofa and the television.
This challenge inspired the idea of a floating TV positioned above the kitchen island, creating a spacious and open area where the TV serves both the kitchen and the living room, without dominating the space or acting as a physical divider between the two zones.
The result is a striking kitchen in a black metallic lacquer finish, combined with brushed oak veneer made from black Formica. The upper cabinets, designed with glass fronts, give the impression of a luxurious furniture piece rather than a conventional kitchen.
The glass display cabinets, framed with black aluminum, are used to showcase decorative dishes, drinks, and glassware, adding a sense of lightness to the bold, black kitchen mass.

MEET THE DESIGNER
Yafit Rotem
Nice to meet you, my name is Yafit Rotem.
From a young age, I remember that interior design was always the first thing I noticed everywhere I went.
I would dive into the details, the connections, the materials.
When I visited friends’ homes that looked neglected or lacked design, I felt a strong urge to make changes, organize, and beautify them.
This passion has been burning inside me ever since.
Order and design truly make my heart happy.
After completing my degree in interior design, I worked in construction companies and at some of the leading architectural firms in the industry.
From the very beginning of my career, I gained extensive hands-on experience, learning closely about the construction process, getting to know various materials, and developing a deep appreciation for conversations with clients.
I worked on diverse and challenging projects, such as industrial kitchens, schools, public institutions, cafés, residential spaces, and building expansions.
It was fascinating to create unique homes for each resident, especially in large-scale projects with up to 350 housing units.
This vast experience gave me the confidence to start my own business a decade ago, supported by strong connections throughout the construction industry – including contractors, suppliers, professionals, and project coordinators.
Over the years, I’ve built an impressive portfolio of clients for whom I’ve had the privilege to design and manage many successful projects, starting from my days as an employee and continuing into my independent career.
